| Patient Emergency Assistance Fund | Grants to help you pay for utilities, pharmacy bills, groceries, rent, transportation and other problems that put your health care at risk. Available for pre-dialysis, dialysis, pre-transplant and post-transplant patients. Apply through your social worker or call us directly for more information. |
| KEEP Health Screenings | The National Kidney Foundation of Connecticut offers free Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP) designed to test those who may be at risk for kidney failure throughout the year at various locations. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the two main causes of kidney failure. Participants are screened for both of these concerns and trained medical professionals offer blood tests and urinalysis to determine the person's level of protein and serum creatinine (an important measure of kidney function). Results are confidential and consultations with a physician are available on site. Visit our Calendar of Events to find a KEEP screening near you. |
| New Patient Kit | Tailored for your individual needs, these kits are tailored to address your particular kidney or urinary tract health concerns. |
| Information Library
| An extensive library of information is available for patients and their families at no cost. Topics include, but are not limited to:
how kidneys function
options for treatment
dietary needs and menu suggestions
coping with kidney failure
kidney disease and diabetes
kidney disease and high blood pressure
urinary tract disorders
kidney stones
sexuality
organ donation questions and answers to living donation and transplantation
